MASH-certified sober homes must also offer a peer-based environment and be drug- and alcohol-free. In July 2014, Massachusetts passed legislation that mandates the monitoring and voluntary certification of Massachusetts sober homes. Boston Sober Homes
Provide structured scheduled, curriculum-driven, and/or otherwise defined support services and life skills development. Trained staff (peer and clinical) provide learning opportunities. Job descriptions include staff responsibilities, eligibility, and knowledge, skills and abilities needed to deliver services.
